Taskora

Home Maintenance Marketplace

Home maintenance made simple through intuitive scheduling and intelligent service matching.

Design process diagram: define, research, design, test, iterate

Product Overview

Home maintenance, booked in minutes.  Finding someone to fix a leaking tap or service a boiler is still a fragmented process, a referral in a group chat, an unanswered call, a quote that arrives three days late. Homeowners don't lack options; they lack confidence in them.

Taskora connects homeowners with vetted maintenance professionals. Every pro is background-checked, pricing is shown upfront, and booking takes under two minutes.

The problem we solved

Trust, not price, was the deciding factor.

Process

01

Interview

20 homeowners were interviewed about how they decide to trust an unknown person in their home for repairements.

02

Affinity Diagram

The interview was followed by a complete affinity diagram, which indicates that Trust, not price, was the deciding factor.

03

Competitive Analysis

Then, a competitive analysis was done. Trust and price, surfaced as the deciding factor, and it shaped Taskora's flow.

04

Card Sorting

Close card sorting was done and revealed that users group maintenantce tasks based on their category.

05

Design

Design process beginned with low-fidelity, mid-fidelity and high fidelity sketches.

06

Usability Test

Second round of interview was ran and Maze testing was done along with the A/B interview test.

07

Iterate

Several rounds of iteration were done to reach the final design.

What changes

Mobile app iterations: first draft next to final version for home and modify service screens

Final design

A walkthrough of the final Taskora prototype.

Final design

The mobile app prototype in motion.

Outcome

An end-to-end flow that moves a user from problem to confirmed appointment in under 2 minutes across 3 screens. A platform that converts on trust rather than discounts.

What I learned

01

Designing a Homemaintence Platform means designing a system, not a feature.

02

Don't relay on my own perspectives and try to gather as much as information from users.

03

Users gernally don't care about the beauty of the platform when it comes to services, accesibility plays the most imporant role.
